An Introduction To The Fantastic World of Animation

Animation is an essential part of many’s childhoods. In addition, computer-generated visual effects (VFX) is a revolutionary invention for the film industry and its technology continues to bloom in recent years. Blessed by the support of local governments and favorable geographical conditions, Vancouver has become a top choice for North American studios to set up operations. Thus the nickname, “Hollywood North”. This industrial advantage, combined with Vancouver’s distinctive culture, has attracted numerous animators and VFX artists from all over the world.

In conjunction with the 2 animated films that are showing this year, Vancouver Taiwanese Film Festival aims to get behind the scenes and introduce these “magicians” who turned imagination into reality to the audiences, especially Taiwanese artists working in the North American market. The panel will be presented by an experienced animation director. Let’s journey into the fantastic world of animation, and experience the magical day-to-day life of an animator!

Denny is an experienced Taiwanese-Canadian director with a demonstrated history of working in the cartoon-making industry. He is proficient across the spectrum of the production pipeline, ranging from Storyboarding, Computer Animation, Traditional Animation, and Background Design to Character Design.
