A 5-year-old kid moves in temporarily with his grandma who lives in a small town in Taiwan. He was told to never set foot into the backyard’s shed, but curiosity finally got the better of him. Hell breaks loose and the most ferocious ghosts are now haunting the household. Grandma is left with no choice but to reveal her secret identity as a Specter Tamer. Together, this Grandma-Grandson duo tries to curb the impending disaster without causing more trouble along the way…

Since its initial release 23 years ago, Grandma and Her Ghosts is considered a classic Taiwanese animation feature by many. Honoring the collective memory of many Taiwanese, this beloved animation has been digitally remastered to accompany its viewers in the years to come.

Shaudi Wang

Shaudi Wang is a charismatic leader in the Taiwan film industry. She made a name for herself with screenplays such as Scarecrow (1987, directed by Wang Tung), Banana Paradise (1989, directed by Wang Tung), and the award-winning film Grandma And Her Ghosts (1999) and Bear Hug (2004). Her works are rich in imagination, with life-embracing passion and humor.
